About the Role

We’re looking for a Generalist - a true maverick who thrives in early-stage, high-energy environments. This role is perfect for someone who wants to roll up their sleeves, learn on the job, and grow with the organization. You’ll be the bridge between our vision and day-to-day execution, ensuring that programs run smoothly, partnerships deepen, and our community grows stronger.
This is not a narrowly defined operations role — it’s about wearing multiple hats, moving between strategy and execution, and being as comfortable in a school classroom as you are in a donor meeting.

Requirements

Who You Are

  • A builder: You like creating systems from scratch, not just managing existing ones.

  • A people person: Comfortable with teachers, students, donors, and volunteers alike.

  • A doer and problem-solver: No task is too big or too small for you.

  • A learner: Curious, resourceful, and adaptable in a fast-changing environment.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Communications, or a related field.

  • 1–3 years of work experience in the nonprofit/social impact space (internships and fellowships count).

  • Strong facilitation and training skills; able to engage groups effectively.

  • Demonstrated ability in documentation, reporting, and basic program management.

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; comfort juggling multiple priorities.

  • Bonus: Experience working with schools, colleges, or youth programs.

About the Company

At the age of 17, three friends came together with a simple belief: if we are privileged enough to have opportunities, it is our responsibility to extend them to those who don’t. While many of our peers spent their holidays at Christmas parties, we spent ours running drives - sponsoring groceries for families, bringing gifts to children, and offering medical help wherever we could. Those early moments shaped us deeply. They revealed both the weight of inequity and the transformative power of even the smallest acts of kindness.
For the initial 12 years, we poured our own money into this work. It would have been easier to donate to an NGO, but that felt too distant, too detached. We weren’t looking to simply give — we wanted to build. We wanted to stand besides children who lacked access to capital and opportunities, and create a path where their dreams could breathe.
Ilika was born from that stubborn passion: to choose the harder road, to build an ecosystem where support wasn’t charity, but justice. Today, every scholarship, every mentorship, every book, every success story is proof that while the journey is difficult, it is far more meaningful.
Because when one child rises, the cycle of opportunity begins. And that is the future we dream of.

Our vision is to create a world where every child has the knowledge, skills, and opportunity to shape their own economic future with confidence.

Ilika fosters an ecosystem of equal opportunity by providing scholarships, mentorship, foundational life skills, and access to networks — empowering every child to navigate life with confidence and realize their potential as future leaders, innovators, and changemakers.
