What began as a personal effort, pooling our own resources to support children without access to education, has grown into Ilika: an ecosystem where support is not charity, but justice
Today, Ilika stands beside young people from underserved communities, providing mentorship, tools, networks, and opportunities that help them pursue degrees, build careers, and transform their futures.
Because when one child rises, the cycle of opportunity begins and generational poverty gets eradicated.
For millions of young Indians, higher education isn’t just a milestone, it’s a ticket out of poverty, a path to dignity, and a chance to rewrite their family’s future. Yet for most, that dream remains painfully out of reach.
The tuition fee for a professional degree, whether engineering, medicine, or law, averages around ₹75,000 a year. For families struggling to meet daily needs, that number might as well be a million. It’s not a lack of talent or ambition that stops them, it’s the cost of a seat in the classroom.
And education doesn’t end at fees. The true cost of helping a young person rise which includes mentorship, guidance, exposure, tools, and the support system they need to stay and succeed, brings the investment to about ₹96,000 per student per year.
